Reminds of when someone I was arguing with on the internet (first mistake amirite?) made the simultaneously claims that SpaceX wasn’t doing anything significant (they were blowing up rockets with the most reliable platform in the world) and the company needed to be nationalized because space was too important to be left to private hands (because of all the benefits that were being held back by greedy capitalists).

    It reminds me of the weirdness of Ayn Rand science fiction and its perverse relevance to modern life. Stilted stories and dialogue, cardboard characters, etc. We don’t really have Ayn Rand heroes. So who in real life would want to be an Ayn Rand villain – the most stilted and cartoonish of the whole lot? A lot of people.
