We went to see Marvel’s Avengers yesterday (great movie), and noticed that Prometheus was just starting in another theater as we were walking out of the one where it was playing, so we could have done it for nothing, but weren’t up for a double feature, particularly given what I’ve been reading about it.
I’ve uploaded the video from the Kickstarter project to Youtube in the hope of giving it more exposure, with only a little over four days to go. Unfortunately. I can’t come up with any way to steer people to the project from there. I don’t seem to be able to edit the description of the video, and comments don’t allow links.
Less than $2500 to go for the space-safety Kickstarter project, but it has to happen by Friday afternoon.

I think that there’s an excellent chance that they’re going to beat Virgin at being first to market.
Barring spectacular reviews, I’m not inclined to see it. Of course, I haven’t seen the second and third Alien movies, either. I didn’t like the first one that much. I view this as more in the horror than SF genre, and I’m not a fan.
…until my Kickstarter project on space safety must be funded. I still need about $2800 by next Friday afternoon. Pass the word, via Twitter or whatever.

At ISDC, Bob Zubrin actually invited me to give a talk on this subject at the Mars Society meeting in August. I accepted, but I still owe him an abstract. Speaking of whom, he has an editorial in the Washington Times about the need for property rights in space.

FWIW. I’m tempted to tweet back that SLS will never get her (or likely anyone) into space. Props for responding, though.
Rest in peace. I hadn’t seen him in years, but used to occasionally in the eighties at various LA space events. He wasn’t as big an influence on me as a kid as Heinlein and Clarke, but I read all his books. Of course, as he often said himself, he wasn’t a science fiction writer.
