Heredity And Lifespan
This is very good news, if true. Both of my parents died of heart attacks fairly young (I’ve now outlived my father by more than a decade, and will beat my mother in a couple years), but they were both obese and smokers. I have a clean bill of health as of a year or so ago, in terms of plaque, even though I ignore the criminally terrible nutrition advice from the federal government.
The Second Amendment
More ahistorical BS about it.
This is as bad as the 1619 Project. Racism has been inextricable from gun-control advocacy at least up to the 1970s. The people who opposed the Second Amendment are the same ones who opposed blacks being armed, and to a large degree, they remain so.
Germany
…is a bad ally. Which is why Biden and Blinken (why do I want to add “and Nod” to the end of that?) want to make nice with a former East German chancellor.
Zhurong
…has been located on Mars, by the MRO.
Asteroids
Martin Elvis has what looks to be an interesting new book out.
Keeping The Pork Flowing To Mississippi
West Virginia Values
With Joe Manchin, “no” means no.
History may view him as a savior of the Republic.
[Friday-morning update]
DNC head: “Joe Manchin hates America.“
Keep the popcorn coming.

The New Atlantis
I’ve been writing long essays on space for them almost since the inception of the journal. They could use some financial support now.
The Ruling Class
…has sullied itself one time too many.
[Update a while later]
The fall of Yale.
[Update a while more later]
Government is just a name for things we do together, like losing $400B to unemployment fraud.
