  1. Looks good against the ‘low’ energy particles of a plasma torch. What about higher energy radiation, the stuff the spacecraft skin has trouble stopping?

  2. If you need a water shield anyway then, does this add anything? Would it make spacewalks safer?

  3. Solar wind particles are not the problem, since they have energies in the KeV range and are so easily stopped by very thing material shields. Energetic particles from solar flares, and galactic cosmic rays (particularly heavy nuclei) are the problem. You need much stronger magnetic fields to deflect those.
