Funny how, like “mistakes” in reporting on politics, these errors always seem to go in one direction.
At least this time the error was admitted, rather than doubling down. Maybe there’s hope for Science after all.

It is surprising and I hope the authors of the study don’t get vilified for it by the church.
Don’t worry about the authors. The narrative is that they discovered the error themselves and fixed it showing they are more ethical and better understand science as evolving, as compared to the stupid and fixated deniers.
That narrative will only serve to gain the researchers “strange new respect” from us deplorable deniers. The church will have none of it.
Chances of this seeing any coverage from the true believers, except maybe a “Yeahbut…”? Nil.
