Charlie Kirk

[Thursday-morning update]

First gutted, then angry.

I wonder if it was just coincidence that this happened on the eve of the anniversary of 911?

    1. My hope is that the change that comes from todays violence will NOT be what the left wanted or expected, and that they will shortly come to rue this day as much as we on the right already do.

  1. Wanting to control speech is a mainstream opinion among leftists these days. Walz made the mistake of saying it during the last election. I am not surprised someone has done this.

  2. I was nine when JFK was assassinated, and remember where I was when I found out, and who told me. My father was a big-time conservative – Patrick J. Buchanan once called him a “right wing extremist” – and never had a good word to say about JFK when he was alive. But he was devastated by the assassination, to the point of being almost inconsolable for days. That left an indelible impression on me.

I wish tomorrow wasn’t 9/11, and I fervently hope that President Trump will be protected as no other human being has ever been.

  3. JFK? really JFC . It going to be closer to George Lincoln Rockwell or Harvey Milk as far as consequence.
Outside of Trump will be trying to lionize Kirk as the next Ernst vom Rath for the next crackdown,

      1. Not just local. National scumbags too. Washed up actors (George Takei). Pols. Half of the damned Congress after Johnson asked for a moment of silence.

      2. I’m assuming there is some reason Engineer is indeed the local scumbag, rather that a distasteful memory. Is it simply that you have a deep and abiding belief in free speech? Kudos to you if so, but I swear to God seeing Engineer’s sputum dribbling on your site sometimes makes me reluctant to come here at all, and I’ve been part of your community for two decades.

        1. I can count the number of people I’ve blocked on this site on the fingers of one hand, with some to spare, but the vile “Engineer” does seem to want to test my limits. I wonder if he/she even has a soul.

          1. Block him. It’s not a sin. His life will go on. This is your website, not his litter box. He’ll be fine.

    1. As if further evidence was needed today only proved again that the left is, and always has been, the ideological home of fascist. YOU are the only nazi here clown.

    2. Never change, man, never change. Show your nastiness to the world with pride. Just as toxic creatures signal their toxicity with bright colors, you signal yours with all your black, flabby heart.

    3. Please keep posting your dreck. You demonstrate what a screwed up a-hole you are with your every post.

And the more the world sees you the more you will be loathed.

    4. You are and have always been (at least here) as self-important idiot who is way too ignorant to know when you say really dumb things.

You should have waited at least 24 hours to see that all around the country, and Europe, folks were having vigils for him (unlike the riots when that criminal Floyd died).

But again, hey, all of us who are actually employed in the scientific arena and don’t need to tell folks what our job is, so it’s not unexpected that you say dumb stuff.

    5. George Lincoln Rockwell was shot by one of his own so the analogy doesn’t work – and not just for the reason that Charlie Kirk was no Nazi. Rockwell had plenty of detractors outside of his “movement,” but none would have scrupled to shoot him as he was a self-important pipsqueak with no significant base of followers and admirers. Noisy, but not important. If not for inside baseball among his tiny coterie of misfits and losers, he likely would have died in bed long after having been forgotten. He wasn’t worth a bullet to anyone else.

Not so Charlie. Charlie was the influencer of legions – one of the great “political entrepreneurs” of American history. He had done great damage to the leftist project and, had he lived, would certainly have done much more.

That future damage will still occur, of course. There is a tide in the affairs of men. For the past century or so it has been a leftist tide. Now, it is otherwise – thanks to Charlie and a few others. Charlie is gone, but there are at least 100 people who can be 1% as effective as he was. There are a legion of fractional-Charlies out there. Killing him will not restore the formerly barely-opposed regnancy of progressive Marxism any more than the death of Lincoln presaged a return to slavery.

  4. Consequential movements, both good and ill, tend to survive their founders. The paradigmatic examples are Christianity and Islam. An “honorable mention” goes to Marxism – which is its own “trinity,” being simultaneously a political movement, a religious cult and a personality disorder.

Turning Point is one of many anti-Marxist movements and, by all indications, one of the most effective – talk therapy for the Marxist personality disorder. As such, its longevity is tied directly to that of its opponent.

Marxism has had a good couple of centuries, but now seems very much on the back foot and increasingly senescent. Charlie had more than a little to do with this. The best possible monument to Charlie will be a world in which Turning Point is no more because it has achieved its purpose and Marxism has joined other dead faiths such as the religions of the Nordics, Aztecs, Carthage and classical Greece and Rome as objects of interest only to small cadres of academic antiquarians.

  5. I think this is more like the assassination of MLK than JFK. Kirk was all about setting people free.

  6. I’ve watched dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of Charlie Kirks YT videos and never saw him say anything cruel, violent, racist….despite being accused of all of that.

And when he challenged the accusers, they usually ran off, unable to offer a single example.

He will be missed. My condolences to his family and may his name be written in the book of life.

  7. Firmly convinced the divide between Right and Left is a divide between humanity and inhumanity. Look at history.

  8. Argentina President Javier Milei releases a statement:

“The left is always, at all times and places, a violent phenomenon full of hatred.”

As the so-called Engineer shows above, leftists are beneath contempt. There is no hate like leftist hate.

  9. My theory: If you look at what Soros has been funding / doing, he is trying to start a civil war. Soros made his money destroying the UK, now he is trying to do the same here.

My bet: Soros hired the hit against Charlie Kirk to try to incite violence from conservatives and ignite the war.

    1. The key is the news media who turns these people into quasi-celebrities of sorts; that’s what the killers want the twisted notoriety. Since there is little chance the media will show self-restraint the only alternatives might be legal recourse. What if the families of the victims started suing news organizations (and their advertisers) for causing “harm” to them while they are grieving by said extensive coverage? Admittedly a (very) long shot, but doing so might garner some attention to this issue.

      1. The media is treating it as a love story now and somehow Kirk was keeping the two lovebirds apart even though they lived with each other and had fursuit sex every day

  10. I never heard of Kirk until he was murdered. That’s probably true for a lot of Mundanes. I red-pilled in early 2009, once it became clear what Obama & Co. were really about. I was mobbed by sf/f cancel culture about ten years ago and am still blacklisted. But I’m still too wrapped up in my personal issues (mainly my and my wife’s health) for the Looney-Tunes World to impinge much.
