The message is finally getting out.
For decades, Americans have been “fat-phobic,” believing saturated fats to be one of the leading contributors to heart disease. Dr. Nina Teicholz, founder of The Nutrition Coalition, debunks this idea popularized by one scientist in the twentieth century.

I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that Ancel Keys was an unwitting mass murderer.
I have an open mind on sat fat even though I had to have a stent put in and did have some myocardial infarction. My Cardio doc and every other medical professional I worked with said satfat is bad and I should keep is down to 16 grams or so a day.
If satfat does not cause artery blockage, as stated in the video, do the people who claim that have an alternative mechanism for artery blockage?
They don’t know what they’re talking about. Your body naturally produces cholesterol, and you don’t get it from eating cholesterol. Artery blockage is caused by inflammation and other negative effects of processed high-carb foods, and insufficient protein. I eat a ton of sat fat, including butter, lard, tallow, and my arteries are clear as of my last calcium scan. What I avoid is bread and the like.
Yep, Lysenko always returns in another form.
Brinksedge, search for Dr Malcom Kendrick. He shows that the cause of arterial blockage CANNOT be what your medico says.
Ancel Keys was a scientific fraudster. His 7 countries study of saturated fat consumption vs heart disease was actually 22 countries and the seven were cherry picked to show the conclusion he wanted as the whole 22 showed no such thing, in fact a slight negative correlation.
Triggered by Eisenhower after his heart attack. He wanted a cause that wasn’t his heavy smoking.
He also included a Mediterranean country (Cyprus?) that was practicing Lent during the study time period, which of course skewed those results. His recommendations likely have shortened the lifespan of millions
And notice that the decline in fat in the diets closely mirrors the rise in Autism, as fat and cholesterols are some of the major building blocks for the neurons and other nerve cells and their interconnects.
There is a great deal of correlation time wise, and lots of evidence that a lack of animal based fats can lead to mental issues and retardation.
My dad was a hundred pounds overweight from his late forties onward. His claim was. “Nobody ever died from being fat or eating fat.” So, he died from prostate cancer age 87. I found myself 30 pounds overweight (217lb) on my 72nd birthday and decided to go on a simple portion-control diet. It took me three years, but I’ll be 75 in a couple of days and weigh 187. Why? Who knows? Not vanity, since I’m bald, missing teeth, and have facial scars, maybe just ADL performance.
I was having a terrible time finding anyone who sold either tallow or beef suet, until very, very recently (aside from Epic, whose tallow I found to be overpowering). About two months ago, the quest went from impossible to having an overwhelming array of choices. Amazon is a case in point. It carried nothing of the sort until recently, and now has a variety of 3 pound and up buckets of tallow for sale from dozens of different suppliers, at a wide range of prices. Two premium suppliers sell Wagyu beef tallow in 2.65 and 7 pound buckets for $35 and $55, respectively. South Chicago Packing sells the smaller bucket, and they also sell a Wagyu tallow spray for $15. A local grocery store carries that, and it is truly amazing. It can make a grilled hamburger taste like prime rib. And, of course, Costco has jumped on board with two-pack jars of 14 oz each tallow. It’s pretty good. Since starting using the stuff, and cutting out carbs, I’ve dropped 40 pounds in about 35 days.
