  1. Overbuilding infrastructure can lose wars too. Some of the most famous defensive structures of history are famous because of their relative uselessness. Such as the Great Wall of China or the Maginot Line. I don’t share the author’s concern about China’s ability to build infrastructure.

In addition, there’s such a massive investment bubble in AI that we probably ought to let it implode a bunch (so we actually see what we’re getting long term) before deciding on massive changes to AI and energy regulation policy. That includes the knee jerkers who want to heavily regulate or ban something that doesn’t really exist yet.

    1. I share your skepticism. Why not let the free market work? Which means maybe we should look a little more closely as to why electric power supply and distribution must rely on public utility monopolies?

  2. I just had this conversation with my friend. I don’t think 280 characters is an impediment. It’s a concentrator for writers and an impediment for those that need three paragraphs of fluff to pitch an unrealistic idea. The reason Hamas et al are failing is because modern adults won’t make time to read their manifestos.
