  1. Overbuilding infrastructure can lose wars too. Some of the most famous defensive structures of history are famous because of their relative uselessness. Such as the Great Wall of China or the Maginot Line. I don’t share the author’s concern about China’s ability to build infrastructure.

    In addition, there’s such a massive investment bubble in AI that we probably ought to let it implode a bunch (so we actually see what we’re getting long term) before deciding on massive changes to AI and energy regulation policy. That includes the knee jerkers who want to heavily regulate or ban something that doesn’t really exist yet.
