Actually, that (rather famous) cartoon you link to is NOT Gary Larson and The Far Side, but Sidney Harris, who did it for American Scientist. I find it more accurately than not describes most of the scientific papers I review.

While the idea is certainly within Gary Larson’s wheelhouse, I’m surprised anyone who’s read “The Far Side” would mistake Harris’ drawing style for Larson’s.
