Great Idea

Let’s celebrate the founding of the People’s “Republic” of China on the White House lawn. Somehow, I don’t think this would happen in a Bush administration. Though I can see it in a Clinton administration, considering how much they donated to the campaigns.

What next? Celebrating half a century of Fidel’s revolucion? Maybe we can have a Pol Pot Day.

  1. How about we do the opposite and run up the flag of the Republic of China? You know, the one that has a liberal government and a capitalist economy?

  2. Giving permission for this celebration is in keeping with the O’s approval of collectivist regimes. It seems we’re now mourning the ouster of Honduras’ former president Manuel Zelaya by cutting off all foreign aid to the country.

  3. I certainly never thought I’d see the day when the U.S. government would be celebrating the Communist takeover of China. Next thing you know they’ll have a parade for the October Revolution. I wonder if they still have one in Russia? Never mind, we’ll do it for them.

I’m not certain of this. As Titus mentions above I can think of a trillion reasons why Bush would have bowed down to China as well.

  5. While people’s faith in the accuracy of Chinese newspapers is touching, this story isn’t true.

The flag won’t be on the White House grounds. It’ll be on the other side of E Street from the Presidential residence.

The Chinese flag HAS flown on White House grounds, in April of 2006, when President Hu Jintao visited then President George W. Bush.
