  1. There was no discussion of the hue of the rabbit in the story…

None of them do. Trust me.

    You’ve tried them all?

    Sounds desperate…

Never needed that pill, myself. I get enough complaints as it is… 😉

  2. So Titus the White Rabbit got you too…

(But Alice the rabbit said it would be wood)

Which leaves open Wood Chuck jokes.

  3. It’s South Carolina, so I’m not surprised. And he didn’t really need a reason. But just before he started chasing the bunny, he told his pals,

    “HEY Ya’ll, watch ‘is!!”

After those 4 words, almost anything is allowable in Southern male culture. But there’s almost always a visit to the ER close behind. I’ll even admit to saying it myself.

    Yes there was alcohol involved.

I’m older and smarter now. (and much, much drier)

  4. “HEY Ya’ll, watch ‘is!!”

And all this time, I though it was “HEY, all y’all, hold ma beer!”

“All y’all” assuming that there is more than one spectator involved. Not to mention alcohol…

  5. I thought the only appropriate last name for someone who nearly dies in a rabbit-related incident was Carter?

  6. Jimmy Carter was not available for comment, although his press agent seemed quite eager to answer questions. His name is … Tim

That’s no ordinary rabbit, that’s the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!

  7. Rand,
the term “ya’ll” covers any number of friends, spectators or family from just one, up to millions, among real southerners. Especially the kind that would climb a transformer to chase a rabbit.
Said redneck would probably also use terms like “shee’it far”, “muthafugger”, and calls his close male friends, “beau”. As in,

“Shee’it far muthafugger, d’jya see that rab’t run, beau!!? WHOOOEEE he ‘uz a fast’n! Where’s ma’ PBR?”

That “ya’ll” thing is hard to understand in some ways, unless you’ve spent some lengthy time amongst ’em, in the sticks, otherwise known to southerners as “the country”. And country means outside town. Even if town has just 20 inhabitants.

(unfortunately most of FL no longer counts as southern territory…for that matter, most of the south is currently over run, by ex-non-southerners)

I’m not sure what they call that type “country” locale in CA or up north. Help?

“The sticks” worked pretty well in a famous Variety headline: “Hicks Nix Pix in Sticks.”
