  1. What has happened to “Little Green Footballs” ??

That was a Pajamas Media website I could reliably count on to get me mad, but today, I went through the top four stories and found myself in substantial agreement.

  2. LGF also has a good post on the two million protester myth.

You can find the link amongst this website’s “Top Shelf Bloggers” list.

  3. Bill, what happened to LGF is that Charles decided he prefers an echo chamber. He’s never been, nor (in fairness) claimed to be, a conservative — but in recent months he has taken to banning anybody whose comments register even the mildest disagreement with, or criticism of, him.

If I discovered a once-allegedly-left-leaning site that was going through a mirror-image of that movement, I rather doubt that I would be comfortable with its new incarnation. Then again, LGF never did appeal to me much even before its devolution.

  4. While I share the discomfort with LGF’s “new” approach, I must say it’s Charles’ site — he pays for it, he can ban anyone he likes.

Indeed, which is ok, because people can go elsewhere, like this site. In fact, they can come here and not even mention LGF, since LGF has nothing to do with the conversation that this blog owner started. And indeed, this blog owner owns this site and can ban people too, particular those who routinely come to his blog to discuss their own tangental items, rather than the topic provided.

  6. It is at least somewhat related, since LGF has been downplaying the crowd’s size repeatedly for the past few days in several posts. Which might explain why Bill brought it up — Bill?

  7. I have no doubt that’s why Bill brought it up, in an attempt to rebut the link Rand posted. It would be nice to hear more of substance about it from Bill, if he has any to offer.

  8. On September 17th LGF posted his estimate of the 9/12 Tea Party crowd at 60,000 to 70,000.

And now you posted it here. You can go spray paint it on the side of your house as well. The effect would be the same. You are simply applying meaningless grafitti.

  9. Let’s stop bickering. I was there, and can tell you without fear of contradiction that there were dozens of others.

  10. Mr. Simberg, I greatly enjoyed your estimation on the crowd sizes and your methodlolgy you applied. Simplicity at its best.

I used a simple static calc based on square the square footage of the thoroughfare and an applied crowd density of 2.5 sq feet per protestor based on the original DC Metro Cam still shot. Unfortunately, I did this before I was aware of the time lapse video which you used.

I arrived at about 400 thousand. However, I am much more inclined to believe you estimate because of the fact that you took the dynamics of the crowd into consideration. Nicely done and very professional, sir.

  11. Well, the “racist” angle didn’t stick, so I can’t blame them for throwing their hands up and resorting to “fatso.” If that doesn’t work (safe to assume), there are more schoolyard epithets at their disposal.
