Poetic Justice

An interesting point by Brown’s campaign manager:

If tonight’s vote is close, the Brown campaign is prepared to fight, says Fehrnstrom. “We’re used to political chicanery here in Massachusetts. We saw it yesterday when John Kerry came out and manufactured allegations of voter intimidation — a tactic that comes literally out of the Kerry playbook, of making up wild tales in the absence of any evidence. People are tired of that kind of partisan politics and Scott is ready to engage in a recount if one becomes necessary and also to fight to be seated as soon as possible. Right now, the seat is occupied by an interim senator (Democratic Sen. Paul Kirk) with a constituency of one — Gov. Deval Patrick (D., Ma.), the man who appointed him.” Think about it, he says: “If they had just left the law alone, they wouldn’t be in the situation they find themselves in now.”

It’s the Boston way. But maybe not for much longer?

[Update a couple minutes later]

Zombie has started an open thread to track reports of voter fraud. Let’s hope that there aren’t many.

  1. Intrade now has Brown up to 83-85%. Stock markets appear to agree. They’re valuing managed health care companies significantly higher.

  2. I might add, that the stock market increase implies some confidence that no health care bill will pass this year.

  3. Former MA resident living in NH, vacationing in FL at a library computer. Man, I’m missing the radio news details here. Donated a small amount to Brown 2 weeks ago and I’m glad. Should he win, it really helps us in NH get enthusiasm to throw out the recent spate of moonbats we elected to congress. Love the spin machines already started before the vote is in.

Funniest ever is the “accidental” posting of a Victory for Coakely headline at 51% and vote map by the Boston Globe on the net this afternoon. Whoops!

  4. How would electing Brown change the “Boston way”?

Because Massachusetts would have a Senator who was neither a waitress ass pinching morally corrupt privileged drunkard, nor a pussified opportunistic lying weasel who married his money.

    Clear enough? Need shorter words?

  5. Because Massachusetts would have a Senator who was neither a waitress ass pinching morally corrupt privileged drunkard, nor a pussified opportunistic lying weasel who married his money.

That will be true no matter who wins today, right?

  6. Ha ha, no, Jim. Coakley is cut of the very same cloth as the late unlamented Ted Kennedy. A supremely cynical highly ambitious Brutus with absolutely no morals at all. As I said elsewhere, even liberal Democrats should be sick to their stomachs about voting for her — and so they seem to be.

I will side with your anticipated spin here, and say that a substantial part of Coakley’s loss, if it comes, is not a referendum on Obama but the fact that she herself is such an inhuman beast.

  7. I liked Becky’s suggestion of lying to exit pollers, so the opposition wouldn’t know how many fraudulent votes to cast. Nothing illegal about that. But you’ll notice how distasteful it was even to her?

  8. I don’t see why people are skeptical of John Kerry’s stories of voter intimiidation. He’s not like he pulls these things out of a magic hat.
