If the Reps want to earn some trust, go to work on education. Make restoring the DC voucher program the headline, but work everywhere to give parents more choices – particularly in inner cities. Make the Dems and their various machines defend those schools. Get the cameras out front, talk about the dollars being flushed away with no results. Give them the same ‘define success’ mandate that the left hammered away at pre-Nov 2008.
