  1. What do the traders know?

Someone sold, perhaps to drive the price down, but “the traders” immediately ran the price back up.

All I know is that, if her Highness had the votes, she’d call a vote.

She needs the reconciliation report and CBO analysis.

  2. After the stupid things she’s said like “We need to pass the bill to see what’s in it.” She needs a brain more than anything.

    Worst. Speaker. Ever.

  3. I grudgingly have to give Pelosi props for her skill as a horse trader. While I am probably on the opposing side of every single thing she advocates, the fact that she is oh so close to getting the votes necessary to pass ObamaCare indicates to me that she can twist arms better than anyone I could name. I genuinely believe that there are some illegal actions going on behind closed doors to get some of those votes, and the mere fact that she could possibly be in the middle of those actions and not fear any reprisal is amazing. That lady has some enormous stones.

I think it just shows the degree to which she is willing to lie in order to try and get her way. All those Rep’s she’s been arm twisting shouldn’t trust her any further than the skin the surgeons pulled back over her forehead.

  5. The bizarre thing is that these are votes from the Democrat party. There’s something very wrong when 20-25% of the Democrat representatives are either undecided or voting no this late in the game. The Republicans don’t have this problem.

There’s something very wrong with politicians trying to maximize their leverage? Were you born yesterday?

The Republicans don’t have this problem.

Read up a bit about how Medicare Part D got through the House — Tom DeLay was referred to the Ethics Committee for trying to bribe a Congressman with an offer to endorse the Congressman’s son.

Meanwhile, Intrade has Obamacare at 75 today.

  7. I would also add that if I had supported Medicare Part D, or the way in which it was passed, your comment wouldn’t be stupidly pointless. But I didn’t, so it is.

What makes you think I was responding to you?

With the CBO report out ($1.2 trillion in deficit reduction over 20 years), Obamacare is up to 76 on Intrade.

  9. To whom were you responding that supported Medicare Part D, and how it was passed?

Karl Hallowell wrote that the GOP doesn’t have “this problem” of last-minute arm-twisting to pass legislation. I was refreshing his memory.

  10. Fox shows them two votes short at this point.

If true, it’s going to pass. No Dem wants to be the one who killed health care reform.
