  1. …the clothing was offending some Hispanic students…

Let me channel Michele Malkin… “Boo frikkin hoo. Too frikkin bad.”

    Yes, she’s frikkin awesome.

Do they have any responsibility not to be offended? Because the school systems actions offend me.

  2. My advice to them is: “Don’t let the door hit ya’ where the good Lord split ya’!”

America, love it or leave it really does apply here.

  3. The so-called “reconquista” consists mainly of people who are gullible enough believe that the Los Gringos Malos stole the only parts of Mexico that had the good roads. And Disneyland. That was stolen, too.

  4. Here in California, I think of it more along the lines of a comercial colonization, sort of like what the European powers did to sections of China in the 19th century.

Which, of course gives them every right to raise the Mexican flag. The big difference being, of course, that the Chinese leadership culture was so ineffectual and corrupt that they were incapable resisting the imperialists. Whereas now in the US . . . wait.

  5. Viva Santa Anna!

(Sorry, amigos–I don’t have a keyboard with the upside down exclamation point to go at the beginning.)

  6. You know, if you’re really going to have a protest against the display of your nation’s flag, maybe you should be living somewhere else.

That thought crossed my mind too, and it was not surprising when it did. What surprised me was how many minds it failed to cross (or how many people conspicuously do not mention that it occurred to them).

    Reconquista.

That thought crossed my mind too. IMHO outright secession or reincorporation into Mexico is extremely unlikely. More likely (though speculative of course) is an endless stream of concessions, e.g. an officially bilingual society, and ‘reparations’ as the price for keeping the country ‘united’.

  7. It’s time for some “Americans” to go live elsewhere. There’s one person, in particular, who should return to his home country of Kenya…

  8. In south eastern Massachusetts, there is a significant Portuguese American community. Every summer, they (we, when I was living there) have something called The Festival of The Holy Ghost. It involves lots of Portuguese culture, lots of Portuguese food, and lots of Portuguese flags. The thing is, it also involves lots of American flags too. The community there is just as proud of their Portuguese heritage as those high school kids are of their Mexican heritage, yet the American flag does not bother them (us) in the least. Perhaps the problem is one of assimilation.

  9. We’ve allowed the idea of Reconquista to fester. We need to firmly deal with this. The last civil war was quite enough. Thank you very much.

Hawaians want Hawaii. Mexicans want California. Quebec is French, it doesn’t matter what they want. The rest of the world is playing Risk with us, ready to back stab at any turn. Our current admin is the enemy. Where’s the looking glass? I need to jump through it to find a sane world.

  10. Has this school gone as far as having the Oath of Allegiance in spanish? If so, then it is time to seriously question the purpose of education in the USA.
In order to immigrate to this country you are required to be able to speak, read and write English. This applies to ALL immigrants that enter legally. There is another class of immigrant though that does not have this or any other requirement for language, job etc and they are Refugees. Many , many people in this country today have come this route and will never learn English and have no intention of doing so.

Our politicians continue to pander to them – I wonder why?

  11. Why is it that we must walk on eggshells lest we offend someone but they in turn show no hesitation about offending us? It’s one thing to be proud of your culture – even if you did flee it because it was a hellhole – but to be offended by your host country’s flag? They are perfectly welcome to kiss my ass.

  12. Screw it. It’s past time to contemplate loyalty, and high time to begin contemplating punishment.

  13. But a French flag doesn’t offend, only that of evil Amerika. This is really enough already.
