   I have a plastic water gun that converts to a high powered laser. All you have to do is replace the plastic parts with a high powered laser.

   My car can be converted to a Ferrari. Just drive it off a cliff and hand me the keys to a Ferrari.

   Nobody tell the BATF.

   I think one of the comments makes a reasonable point. If the lower receiver, the part typically stamped with identifying serial numbers, functions in the rest of real M4 assembly, then that’s a boon to bad guys. Still the other arguments made by BATF seem foolish, and it is a commenter not the BATF making sense. I’m sure the BATF may not be interested in sharing ideas, but then, they could make this go away by just saying, “our mistake”.
