  1. Very interesting article. When it comes to politicians, I prefer the unglamorous ones. Like she said, glamour is an illusion. I prefer the press to have the same opinion of all politicians that they only seem to reserve for Republicans – that they’re lying snakes in the grass who can’t be trusted and must be investigated. Unfortunately, the press is by nature hesitant to inflict that treatment on Democrats unless forced to by events.

It’s kind of funny how so many of us were and are able to see through the Obama illusion while so many others fell for it. I’m reminded of a soldier I read about in one of my history books (IIRC, Ryan’s “The Final Battle” about the closing days of WWII in Europe). There was a soldier in the American Army who had a particular form of color blindness that allowed him to plainly see German camouflage. Once his commanders realized he had this talent, they put him in a spotter plane so he could quickly pick out otherwise hidden German positions. His “disability” no doubt saved many American lives.

Maybe that’s what those of us who see through Obama have – a form of color-blindness to the media hype. It’s just a thought.

Her comments about health insurance are good, too.
