  1. If you believe that Saudi oil money owns Washington (as many on the Left have professed to) then there’s nothing to worry about. Regardless of how convenient Israel is as a whipping boy for the Arab Kingdom, a Turk-Persian alliance is pretty much their worst nightmare. And Iraq knows it would also not last long between those two. They will side with Israel to stop that.

  2. The Turkish military’s top brass may, indeed, have been replaced with politically reliable islamists by Erdogan, but I think it’s still an open question as to whether the junior officers and the rankers would actually obey orders to launch their country irrevocably into a war that mainly benefits Iran. Military coups are hardly a novelty in modern Turkish history. Just because they were initiated by senior officers in previous times doesn’t mean their juniors couldn’t, or wouldn’t step up. Coups by junior officers have also been fairly common many other places since WW2. If push actually comes to shove, Mr. Erdogan and his fellow Allah-botherers could be in for a nasty, and well-deserved, surprise.

  3. Paraphrasing the President: ” When the time comes I stand with the muslims”. He’s already told us where he stands.

  4. I hope all of the Jewish Democrats are happy with what they’ve helped create, going back 20 years.

    Kapos.

  5. DaveP, Go find a group of Jewish Republicans and say that — I predict you’ll be punched in the face. Asshole.

  6. Jewish Democrats haven’t done anything morally egregious, and the kappos, whatever moral decisions they made, were Holocaust victims. It is fine if you don’t agree with the Democratic party’s policies, but attempting to criticize it by smearing (in one way) the majority of American Jews and smearing (in another way) victims of the Holocaust, well, maybe it was rude to call you an asshole, but that just completely pisses me off.

  7. Now Iran says they will escort the next convoy….
This is going to be open war….and loose and subtly

  8. Now Iran says they will escort the next convoy

Surely not into Israel’s territorial waters?

  9. And why wouldn’t Iran offer naval escort? It isn’t as if the Obama admin has given them reason to fear any sort of US response.

  10. Obama fiddles while Rome burns ….

    OBAMA OFF TO THE THEATER

    Subject: pool report #1

Reception in the East Room prior to performance at Ford’s Theatre

Print pool only was ushered into the East Room about 5:20 p.m. where many elegant ladies in long dresses and men in tuxedos were standing sipping drinks and eating small finger food. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood came over to say hello to the pool but the president and first lady were announced before there was any real conversation. A few faces spotted in the crowd, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Rep. John Dingell and his wife.

The president and first lady walked in and gave brief remarks to the crowd, but pooler was unable to actually see them because everyone was standing. We’re headed over to Ford’s Theatre shortly and should be able to see then what FLOTUS is wearing.

On the contrary, they voted Democrat knowing that folks like Helen Thomas are welcome at all the best Lefty parties.

Would Obama be in office without Jewish votes or money or political expertise (e.g., Rahm). Sure doesn’t seem likely. They have empowered him knowing he was raised by Muslims and hard left Communists, and there’s a good chance Israel will pay the price for that.

That seems pretty morally egregious to me.

Re: Iran & the flotilla: this is serious shit.

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

  12. It’s not inconceivable that we will have two nuke wars within the next year, Israel vs Iran. And North Korea vs South.

  13. Sure seems like they mean right up to Gaza….

In that case we can look forward to the cargo ship being boarded and taken to Ashdod and the escort ships being sunk or captured. If it ever comes to that, that is. Would the Egyptians let Iranian vessels through the Suez canal?

  14. Our policy must be an utter condemnation of Turkey. The Turks are peddling vicious anti-American and anti-Israeli propaganda at home. Their news reports that our soldiers clogged the Euphrates with Iraqi bodies and that Americans and Jews conspired to sell Iraqi organs.

We must move carriers into the Eastern Mediterranean. We must pledge to enforce the blockade ourselves, including sinking any Turkish warships which attempt to defend another flotilla. We must demand that Turkey pay a 200 million dollar indemnity to Israel for their support of terrorists. If the Turks don’t agree (and it is OK to negotiate the amount down to half that) we must demand they be kicked out of NATO. If they are not, we must leave NATO ourselves.

The Turks are showing every sign of becoming genocidal once more – to which I say “Never again”.

A firm hand will prevent much bloodshed – including Turkish blood. As our good allies during the Cold War, they deserve firmness to save their own lives.

    Yours,
    Tom

  15. We must move carriers into the Eastern Mediterranean. We must pledge to enforce the blockade ourselves, including sinking any Turkish warships which attempt to defend another flotilla…

Good ideas, but if we were willing to do such things the situation would not have deteriorated to its present state. What our leaders will probably do instead is continue to try to avoid political risks and keep our options open, by doing nothing other than make statements that split the moral difference between aggressors and victim. By doing so we will continue to give an (accurate) impression of weakness and lack of resolve, making war much more likely.

  16. Bob-1, I will gladly call any Jew who supports Hamas or Hezbollah- who have the extermination of ALL Jews written right into their founding documents- Jews who aid in the slaughter of Jews: Kapos.

Since the ’90s, when the Democratic Party began its demands that Israel suffer the slaughter of its own people in silence in the name of “engagement”, that has meant Jews who vote and fundraise Democrat. There is no difference between American Jews who enable Islamic pogroms and those who enabled Nazi pogroms… except, as you pointed out, at least the Kapos could claim coercion. The American Jewish Left—cannot. Aiding in the destruction of Israel is purely a matter of choice for them.

Thanks for pre-beclowning yourself… now I don’t have to bother.

  17. In my youth I read the ‘Late Great Planet Earth.’ Although Wikipedia says Russians invade Israel, I seem to remember it saying the Chinese.

Anyway, it is interesting that both our economy and Israel are now potentially at risk. When I read that book, we were strong and strong supporters of Israel. It didn’t seem likely that either would change. Now here we are.

  18. Israel could just go and seize control of the Gaza coast. No blockade is needed if you own the ports.

  19. What nonsense. The views of the Democratic Party are in line with the view of the Israeli center. No significant daylight exists between the Democratic Party and Kadima, the largest party in Israel, founded by Ariel Sharon and currently led by former Mossad agent Tzipi Livni.

People chosen by Nazi concentration camp guards were killed if they refused to work as kapos. Regardless of whether they were indivdually strong or weak, they were victims, and using their name as some sort of slur is shameful.

Brock, I love how you throw around the idea of Jewish money while singling out the Jews for contributing to Obama’s campaign. Newsflash: some of the alt.space millionaires who we so admire contributed their money to Obama too. Are their actions equally egregious in your eyes, or do you like to just single out the Jews? As for voting for Obama, again, why single out the Jews? If Obama is a muslim/communist bent on Israel’s destruction, than it would be egregious for any American to vote for Obama, and yet the majority of them did so. Either you are an anti-semite, or you should view the majority Americans with contempt.

  20. You can fault McCain for a lot, but I thought he had good instincts on national security. If America stood solidly behind Israel… well I just think about the day Reagan took office and suddenly the hostages were released.

    dispelling the myth

I missed it Titus, where? Or were you just speaking in general?
