An Oil-Spill To-Do List

I’m sure that the president will get right on it, just as soon as he finishes his latest round of golf.

You know, I’ll bet that Bobby Jindal hasn’t hit the links once in the past couple months.

One of the most insane things is the EPA not allowing the ships to clean the water, because they only remove ninety-plus percent of the oil. This is bureaucracy run amok. The president could fix it with the stroke of a pen. I wonder why he doesn’t?

  1. Are you serious or sarcastic?

Of course he won’t fix it. He’s too busy either looking for a way not to be blamed for the whole thing, or to use it to further his plans.

The only logical alternative, that the American people elected a weak, vapid buffoon to the toughest job in the world, is too terrifying to contemplate. In this case I’d prefer malice over stupidity!

Because he’s the kind of golfer that only ever takes a pencil.

  3. He’s taking a mulligan.

Look, Obama can’t be expected to stop the actual leak. He doesn’t know how and neither to 99.99% of everyone else. That’s highly specialized knowledge that maybe several hundred to a few thousand people on the planet have. It’s unreasonable to expect Obama to stop the leak and any such criticisms are unreasonable.

But Obama is head of the executive branch. He is ultimately responsible for the poor actions by EPA, Coast Guard, and other executive agencies mentioned in the article. For that, he can and should be criticized.

  4. If he was trying to make things as bad as possible, for whatever reason, what would he be doing differently?

  5. If he was trying to make things as bad as possible, for whatever reason, what would he be doing differently?

You can ask the same question about his handling of the economy and just about everything else. If Obama were an enemy of the US and wanted to inflict maximum long-term damage to the country, what would he do differently than what he’s doing as president?

  6. “If Obama were an enemy of the US and wanted to inflict maximum long-term damage to the country, what would he do differently than what he’s doing as president?”

The first part of that sentence may answer the question posed by the second part.
