The Battle To Wreck The Gulf Economy

continues:

The new moratorium will last through Nov. 30. Unlike the last moratorium, which applied to waters of more than 500 feet, the new one applies to any deep-water floating facility with drilling activities.

I’m sure the basis for this one is no sounder than the last one. More of the Democrats’ war on science.

  1. Is this the third attempt, or are they just now rolling out the second attempt after the first was rejected in court?

  2. This whole Gulf oil spill fiasco, and the drilling moratorium in particular, is destroying the myth of Democratic “competence” to run government, even to those who don’t normally pay much attention to politics.

  3. Agree with Brad. Mush brains on the left and right coasts might believe Obama is concerned about the economy of the Gulf States in bartering a deal with BP to pay out of work fishermen and supported industries. But people in the Gulf Coast know that oil/energy is the biggest driver of their economy. Then there is the FDA closing 1/3rd of the Gulf of Mexico fishery, even while their own testing shows the seafood is safe to eat.

Obama is helping the Gulf Coast; he’s attacking it with a vengeance.

  4. Titus,

Yes, and a helping hand to the OPEC since this will make the U.S. much more dependent on foreign oil.
