  1. Does anyone believe we’d have been worse off with Ol’ “No-Fire-In-The-Belly” Fred? I mean, we have a “true believer” in office now, someone who wanted the job so badly, would it really have been such a terrible thing to have someone calmer and more thoughtful? Would Mr. “privatize 2% of Social Security” have tripled the deficit year over year from here on? Or seized control of the automotive and banking industries? Or signed the radical medical care bill?

If the multiple worlds theory was true, I’d love to take a peek in on the world where Fred won. Might even want to move there. Call me an unabashed “Fredneck”.

  2. Hell, these days I’d even settle for Bill Clinton. Whatever faults he had — and he had many — at least he didn’t see ordinary Americans as “the Other” who needed to be given their comeuppance.

  3. Good Lord — we’ve graduated from “Miss Me Yet?” billboards of Dubya to BJ Clinton. Can Carter be far behind?

Clinton, Carter, or Buchanan. They’re all looking mighty good these days.

  5. Nope. Neither Carter nor Buchanan. Ever.

Bill Clinton? In a fracking heartbeat. He was smart enough to learn from the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce. Clinton may not have been a great man, but he was a good politician, and a good politician knows when to listen.

The only problem is that he would end up stealing all the credit for good ideas from the Republicans. Again. Heh.

  6. Carter and Buchanan, despite their stupidity, arrogance, incompetence, and ineptitude, were arguably patriotic and pro-American.

The same can not be said for Barack Hussein Obama.

  7. At least Carter brought military experience (not only did he serve but he managed to land a Naval Academy appointment and graduate), business experience (peanut farmer), and executive experience (governor of GA) to his term as President. BHO has none of these and it shows.

Carter was (and still is) racist, and he was such a micro-manager that he simply could not make a decision. I do not miss his Presidency, and while I respect his post-presidential work with Habitat for Humanity I despise his continued racism and his efforts to contribute to the world political scene.

After 18 months, BHO seems headed for a total lock on the title of Worst. President. Ever.
