The Tea Parties

…have already won:

What debuted in nationwide protests on April 15, 2009, has taken less than 18 months to become the current driving force in American politics. The Tea Party insurgency will not only cost Democrats dozens of seats in Congress, and likely their majority — it will define the coming GOP presidential nominating process, determine the direction of the GOP for years to come and threaten any remaining plans Obama has for sweeping reforms of education, energy policy or our immigration system.

And it’s driving the establishment, in both parties (e.g., Karl Rove), crazy. So much for Queen Nancy’s “astroturf.” She’s about to be dethroned.

  1. WTF, I said the Tea Party is against illegal immigration. Can this lying Matula guy even read?

And an opinion article written in an union trade website by a union pr guy to push an union initiative sounds like a fake and inaccurate evidence. Does he get all his info about the GOP and Tea Party from left wing sites? I noticed his pathetic comparison to the Reform Party was recently tried by Media Matters.

  2. Rand,

[[[Are you really so deluded (and bigoted) as to believe that if someone were to ask her today if she believed that dinosaurs and humans coexisted, she would say yes?]]]

Of course not. She has learned to keep her mouth shut about what she actually believes. At least until she has the power to do something about it.

  3. Ken Anthony,

[[[Yes, although life experience counts and they made much better use of it than Obama has. With a train wreck like Obama and his cohorts, they realize they could not do any worse.]]]

And yet the very actions of the Tea Party in destroying the Republican party are extending that train wreck into the next Congress and perhaps the next presidential election.

That is what so irrational about the Tea Party and shows they are driven by anger rather then common sense. They claim to be against President Obama and are doing the exact things that will ensure he remains in power.

  4. Leland,

I have supported everything I have stated with main stream websites. Where is the support for your statements?

But then I guess Tea Party supporters have been told by Fox News they don’t need to support their statements with evidence. Their “pure hearts” are support enough…

The Tea Party shows P.T. Barnum was 100% on target.

Yes, if the Founding Fathers were here today the Tea Party would make them grateful they put in the Constitution the road blocks they included to prevent mob rule. And probably make them wish that states appointing Senators had not been overturned.

  5. Ken,

[[[…don’t be afraid of information. Healthy debate is so important…

So Thomas, what is it about this crackpot idea that scares you so?]]]

So where is your information and evidence that the Tea Party is more then an angry mob being manipulated by the extreme right of the Republican Party?

  6. So where is your information and evidence…

Oh ho, what a straight line you handed me.

To call the tea party ‘just an angry mob’ is to ignore reality so completely that no evidence would penetrate your delusion.

Why don’t you do your homework rather than make stupid assertions?

It’s leftist projection and you’ve bought into it completely. Astroturf? That would be the left’s union mobs. Angry mob that don’t know what they’re protesting? See Rands other post on brown shirts. Doesn’t know what they stand for? Yeah, brown shirts of the left. Picks up after themselves and loves life and liberty for all? Ok, ya got me, that’s the tea party.

You keep harping on what they’re doing to the republican party… the republican party is the problem which the tea party is finally addressing. In the short term it may result in splitting votes and letting democrats win. But the tea party is about the long term. Which incidentally is why you hear many establishment republicans saying by 2012 they will have dissipated. This is wishful thinking and will not happen.

  7. Ken Anthony,

Actually I have done my homework and the question is which Tea Party do you refer to? The slick Fox News one? Or the grass roots one? Some info for you to consider.

What is the Tea Party Movement?

[[[But the Tea Party Express, which also drove Joe Miller’s surprise win in the Alaska GOP primary, should not be confused with the Tea Party movement. As Politico reported in April, it was the brainchild of a Republican political consultant hoping to boost his firm’s political action committee. Indeed, many who consider themselves part of the Tea Party resent the Tea Party Express for its ties to traditional Republicans. ]]]

And note this from the website of the local Tea Party candidate for Nevada, not the Republican selected by Sara Palin and the Tea Party Express.

[[[Scott Ashjian is re-launching his bid for the US Senate!

For the past several months Scott Ashjian has been a gentlemen allowing Sharron Angle every opportunity to blow past Harry Reid for the Nevada US Senate seat. Scott took heavy criticism from the press and heat from Tea Party affiliates outside the State of Nevada.]]]

    and

[[[Both Reid and Angle are career politicians that attack each other on TV offering no solutions to the 163,000 Nevadans out of work.

How can you think Harry Reid or Sharron Angle will be able to create private sector jobs? They have never created any private sector jobs and they have never run a business, all they know how to do is spend YOUR hard earned money!

Scott is a career businessman, having hired hundreds of people in Nevada. Scott knows what it takes to get the local economy going again. While the politicians talk, Scott has been starting the largest Internet marketing company in Las Vegas, hiring high tech professionals and training locals to get them ready to enter the workplace.]]]

So tell me, which do you think best expresses YOUR view of the Tea Party movement…

  8. Matula,

Saying you hate the Tea Party and Fox News, and then linking to union websites and CBS News, does not make you more credible. Besides, I can’t provide links to your beliefs. Their your beliefs. You started off claiming that the GOP was set to win the Senate until the Tea Party stepped in. Yet, you have never provided one link to support that claim. I could provide a link to a current poll, but those suggests that since O’Donnell’s win, the GOP is moving closer to a Senate take over. Admittedly, this isn’t because of Delaware being in play, but other Tea Party candidates closing the gap elsewhere.

I can’t provide a link that shows I don’t watch Fox News. I can’t prove a negative. But apparently you watch a lot of network news and consider their stuff homework. Tell me, since you watch CBS, do you believe Dan Rather’s TXANG memos were real? If you do, that explains a lot. If you don’t, why do you still site that organization as a credible news source?

It also seems you have a remarkable hatred for Sarah Palin. I’d ask why, but I’m pretty sure the answer is she’s a woman since otherwise her political opinions should appeal to a devout GOP voter that you claim to be. But perhaps devout voter is incorrect, since you have admitted to voting for a former Clinton crony and now you want to vote for Harry “Women Senators Are Hot” Reid. Yeah, I can see why a sexist like him would be appealing to you as a voter. Besides, if you vote for Harry, then perhaps you can be the deciding factor that keeps the GOP from winning the Senate. And that brings me to my final point; I don’t have to provide links to prove your lies and hypocrisy. All anyone needs to do is scroll through this very thread to read the facts for themselves.

  9. Leland,

As you usual you say nothing and provide no evidence to support your opinions, but just attack me without having the the courage to put a name to your posts. But I guess you don’t have to, that is the Tea Party way, to hide behind a radical view of the Constitution while arguing everyone who doesn’t agree 100% is an “enemy of the State”.

Again, evidence please. What is the Tea Party’s solutions, beyond throw the bums out?

Also which of the links I provided was to a union website? I checked them and none are?
