What Took So Long?

CNN has finally fired Jon Klein. I hope that his successor is an improvement (hard to see how it could be worse). Who in their right mind would want to watch a show with Elliot Spitzer (or as Jim Garaghty calls it, Client Number Nine At Eight)? It sure would be nice to have two cable news channels that don’t suck.

[Update a while later]

Wow, coincidence? Jeff Zucker is out at NBC, too. I wonder if he’s been protecting Olbermann and Ed Schultz?

  1. “CNN slipped behind MSNBC into third place this year in its prime-time ratings, where Fox News Channel remains a dominant number one.”

Wow, I thought the MSM was reporting that the Tea Party hijacked the Delaware Primary. Looks like the TV Viewing numbers got hijacked too? And as smart as they are at NBC and CNN, I guess they didn’t realized they were being laid waste by the same right-wing, nut job, under dressed, Town Hall hecklers.

How do those two guys affect the unemployment numbers?

  2. I wonder if the acquisition — and dumbing-down — of The Weather Channel figured at all in Zucker’s downfall?

Too bad it only happened after the fact; I wouldn’t expect TWC to recover even in the face of direct competition, and despite the alternative offered by one of the dish companies, there really isn’t direct competition against TWC.
