  1. G’day,

I was always told that if I was fortunate enough to meet her Majesty QE11 I should first address her as “Your Majesty” then call her ma’am after that. If its good enough the Queen I would think its good enough for the senator.

  2. She would have tried to can the General on the spot if he’d requested that she return the favor of using his title.

  3. I loved this video, encapsulates the elitism and arrogance in a nutshell.

Like many a high school or university girl of average appearance and intelligence, who works her tail off to get good grades and get ahead, but proves entirely incapable of comprehending a complex argument and responds to it with an “I’m on the honor roll and you are a loser,” as if that nullifies everything.

Is this video being broadcast in California as a campaign ad?

    You should watch the video.

I especially like how they change the lower-third each time someone requests being called by a different or “more proper” title. 🙂

  5. I watched the video, I mean when the original interaction took place. At the time, the military man who was testifying just said, “Yes mm-Senator” and proceeded. If he’d said “Please call me General” she would have popped her gourd – she was already pissed off.

  6. Since a Major General is a lower rank than General (O-8 vs O-10), he wouldn’t mind being called General. In fact, it’s common to address all generals that way. Other than that, it was an excellent video.
