  1. Sadly the papers here in FL and their commenters went apoplectic when the new Gov declined to accept the HSR rail money from BHO. Lots of gnashing of teeth over the new Govs failure to produce jobs in less than his 2 months in office. Doesn’t occur to these deep thinkers to ask the same question of President Obama who has had over 2 years and a trillion dollars urinated away in stimulus funds and failed utterly to produce jobs.

It’s hilarious how they wailed that now CA would get the choo-choos and they wouldn’t.

  2. I’ve got an idea that’s way better than high-speed rail. Pneumatic tubes that will, in just minutes, deliver letters from your post office to your house, just like they use at some bank drive-thrus!

With just a few billion in infrastructure spending, plus maintenance and upgrades (the tubes will be underground and frequently crack, leak, or flood), Americans can shave a couple hours off the time it takes to get mail.

Think of the incredible convenience, the savings and efficiency, the improved connectivity between us all!

    Someone call Joe Biden.

  3. George is in danger of being drafted by the democrats for the next congressional election!

  4. Mail tubes were in that movie The Shadow? It was a prominent bit of tech that was displayed on quite a bit in the movie. I remember that being one of several silly things in that movie.

  5. So isn’t anybody buying the mail tube idea?

    Hrmphhh…

I guess it’s because mail-tubes are to e-mail what high speed rail is to airlines.
