  1. My opinion of the blue aliens from Avatar just went up a few notches.

And it’s still pretty low, mind you. Earthlings come to them and offer to trade valuables in exchange for a mineral the natives don’t happen to be using. It never occurs to the Na’vi that they stand to profit from both trade goods and human goodwill – as the movie illustrates, happy humans are less bothersome than unhappy ones. The root problem is their religion – trade essentially demonstrates a lack of faith in their deity Gaia or Maya or Enya or whatever, who supplies all their material needs.

  2. The stupid tools in the media slam Boehner and Ryan and let raving lunatics like Markey and Slaughter run free.

  3. It’s just sick that Boehner gets slammed by the Left for capitulating to the Democrats. The cut was a drop in the bucket, smaller than a Wisconsin public sector union boss’ conscience.

  4. Alan K. Henderson Says:
“It’s just sick that Boehner gets slammed by the Left for capitulating to the Democrats. The cut was a drop in the bucket, smaller than a Wisconsin public sector union boss’ conscience.”

In case you didn’t notice, the world ended on Friday. The cuts were so draconian that we didn’t even notice our passage to the afterlife. You might think that nothing has changed and life is going on much the same as it was before Friday but that is merely an illusion.

  5. Going on the perhaps overly-optimistic assumption that most people with an IQ above room temperature will take Markey’s, et al, malarkey for what it’s worth, is there any harm in encouraging these whackadoodles? Or is it roughly equivalent to yelling “Jump!” to a someone standing on a ledge?
