  1. The narrative now is that Sarah is now a has been. Yet, she is able to take her message to the heart of the storm successfully in Madison. Also, someone asked Col. West if he’d take a vp slot with Trump and he indicated interest. I still see…

    Palin/West 2012

Trumps popularity comes because he takes on issues directly and like many New Yorkers can talk a good game. Sarah’s been doing that all along, but people have been in the media bubble so they can’t see it.

I thinks Sarah’s voice is her handicap. Most of her ideas are on point.

    The race hasn’t started yet.

  2. Of course, it’s going to get uglier in the months ahead. We’re dealing with highly motivated marxist/socialist activists. But, it’s time for people to step up and call a spade a spade, exactly the way Breitbart did today. I would have dispensed with the directive he closed with, but he’s exactly right in saying that the tactics employed in Michigan by the Democrats and their union buddies are un-American. I’ll raise him one: I’d categorize them as downright subversive.

  3. It will be interesting to see if the MSM will report on the hatred, violence, and strong ties to socialist groups of the unionistas as the election rolls on.

    ken anthony Says:
“I thinks Sarah’s voice is her handicap.”

She has a strange syntax where she transposes words and phrases. I think she is dyslexic.

  4. Rand, why are you always picking on leftist union thugs and never on right wing union thugs? Oh wait, the latter don’t exist…

  5. If Sarah isn’t running, she gave an Academy Award-grade performance of a Presidential candidate in Madison. WOW!

She is light years ahead of any other potential Republican candidate. No one else can even see her dust.

Yes, Palin/West 2012, and I’ve been saying that for months.

I’ve never been anywhere near Alaska, and I find her accent endearing. I honestly don’t understand why anyone has a problem with it.

  6. She sounds perfectly normal to me, and I grew up in the exact opposite part of the country from her (Florida). Maybe people have been listening to the tooth-grindingly awful northeastern accents that dominate the televised media for so long that they think that’s the normal way to speak.

  7. Added: if you think I’m being prejudiced, I grew up in Miami, which is basically a borough of New York City that somehow drifted south and got lodged on the end of Florida. Over half the English speaking population there sounds like Fran Drescher.

  8. “Yes, “leftist union thugs” is redundant. I have no problem with Sarah’s accent per se, but she could use a voice coach to reduce her pitch.”

Agreed. The Sainted Maggie Thatcher had to be trained to do that.

  9. Irony of ironies.

The “one black guy” is also the one black guy here.

“I wipe my ass with the flag every night when I…take a shit.”

Charming. Our veterans have not died in vain, then.

  10. I read Althouse post calling it unfair to characterize the anti-tea party protestors as “booing” the National Anthem. I had a problem with her premise, which was they were making so much noise prior to the performance, most didn’t even know it was occurring. First, there is documented video that suggest some knew the Star Spangled Banner was playing and still complained about it. Second, assuming others were just part of the herd; they still were there to squelch the free speech of others. In short, they may not have booed the National Anthem intentionally; but their entire reason for making noise was to censor other’s free speech.

  11. So after I posted, I made my rounds of reading which includes Althouse (after I read Rand). Today, she is (admittedly as she says “the more I think about it”) reconsidering her previous stance and arguments. Her more recent view is inline with what I got from her coverage. The reason for the anti-protest was to drown out the speakers, which is hardly a better thing to do than outright booing the National Anthem. Indeed, she says it succintly this way:

Now, my question is: What is the argument that making that noise was a worthy and good thing to do?

    Good for Professor Althouse.
