  1. Just got the newest text msg:

DHS is on the lookout for a toodler boarding an aircraft with a one way ticket. Don’t worry, TSA is on the case and we you are all in good hands. Always remember, be on the watch for home grown terrorism!

  2. My wife and I opted out of the texting plan when we signed up for smartphones; we can email each other instead. This means any texts we send or receive cost us.

If Obama isn’t paying my mortgages he probably isn’t going to pay for those texts either. Bastard.

  3. McGehee-

Many carriers have “free texts”, that don’t get added to your bill, such as when Verizon sends out a text to remind people to pay their overdue bill, or that their contract period is going to expire. I wouldn’t be surprised of the government wouldn’t force carriers to make POTUS texts free, and have the carriers foot the bill.

Not that it’s much of a bill to foot, anyway. Texting has the highest profit margin of just about any product/service around…

  4. More likely, the government (read: taxpayer) would compensate the carriers for the money they’d be paid by the subscriber for the text under their plan structure. After all, cell phone carriers are more likely to write big checks at political fundraisers than cell phone users are.
