Perfectly In Character

Holder didn’t send the letter of apology to the Terry family, but he or someone on his staff did leak it to Politico.

What a despicable excuse for a human being. And yes, obviously I’m being racist.

[Update mid morning]

Family of slain border agent breaks silence, and lashes out at Holder.

[Update a couple minutes later]

That Fox story has a geographic anomaly:

“I think they are liars and I would tell them that,” said Kent Terry from his home in central Michigan. “What would I say to Eric Holder? They would not be nice words.”

Terry is in his 70’s, paralyzed and bound to a chair after an accident 17 years ago. His former wife Josephine lives 90 minutes north near Detroit.

Someone can live 90 miles north of somewhere in Michigan, or they can live near Detroit, but they can’t do both.

  1. “I agree with you that the tactic strategy of allowing guns to ‘walk,’ as was permitted in Operation Fast and Furious, is completely unacceptable.”

    FTFY Eric.

  2. He’ll blame the USPS for losing the letter. I’m guessing DOJ has no available personnel who could have hand delivered a letter. (if one ever existed)

The Border Patrol is not so great either in my eyes, here’s why.

Two years ago, my ex-Marine son tried to get a job with them. He got the lead from one of his old squad mates who had been contacted via a VA Jobs site.

After jumping through federal job application hoops, he was contacted three times for phone interviews. He thought he’d get the job and at one point they even told him WHERE he’d be going for training.

Then nothing happened for a few weeks.

He contacted them every few days until finally the guy who had given him the training class and location info told him pretty much, “…don’t call us, we’ll cal you.’

Now, I’ve had several people who said they probably found something in the background search they didn’t like. But I don’t buy that that was the problem.

This is a young man with an Honorable Discharge, Iraq combat experience, as a Combat Engineer, who at that time had Blasting Cards from two different states, who also had his 40 Hour HAZMAT Permit and a is a NC CCH holder. He could pass a Federal Background Search with his brain tied behind his back, and had at least 7 times in the preceding 7 years!

Given all that, here’s the question. If HE couldn’t get a job with the Border Patrol, who the hell ARE they hiring. And that in no way puts any kink in the agents lives to my way of thinking. But it makes me question their bosses.

  3. It’s the thought that counts… Of course, the thought came after he was asked to apologize and refused. And its only a thought, or really just a report that a thought might have happened.

  4. If the story is true, it is pretty messed up that they would leak the letter before the family received it or if the letter was never sent.

    Interesting update from DC;
UPDATE: This story was updated to reflect new information provided to The Daily Caller by Terry family attorney Lincoln Combs. Contrary to Ms. Domino’s account, Mr. Combs told TheDC that Attorney General Holder emailed his letter of apology to one of Brian Terry’s sisters on the evening before the Politico story was published, and that Terry’s mother hadn’t read what Politico described as a “private letter” until after the news outlet published a report of its existence.

Sent via email and not to the parents? Stunning…

  5. Minor detail, but it does say Josephine is his FORMER wife, they don’t have to live together

I didn’t say they live together. I think you’re missing my point. There is nowhere in “central Michigan” where ninety miles north is “near Detroit.” Ninety miles east, yes, but not north.

  6. It said 90 minutes North Rand. It is certainly more than 90 minutes to Traverse City from Detroit. I used to drive to from Pittsburgh to Frankfurt on a regular basis and I know that the roads up there are not exactly interstates.

    1. Guys, please read the article before you defend it.

The article says Kent Terry lives in Central Michigan. Then it says his wife lives 90 minutes north near Detroit.

There is no point in Michigan 90 minutes south of Detroit unless you are walking, never mind “central Michigan”. It’s an error..
