Will the new president clean out the appointed rats?
Not just appointed rats, but also career rats who exhibit ideology that drives them to do their job wrongly.
Unfortuanately, most of them are protected by Civil Service laws. They can get away with just about anything short of barbequing babies for lunch. That’s why the career bureaucrats are the real government. They know that politicians (especially presidents) come and go but the bureaucracy goes on forever doing whatever they damned well please. The elected politicians are the showbiz government.
The only way to get the bureaucracy under control is to start eliminating departments and agencies. Starve the beast.
