  1. Huh. I always thought France was a good place for autists…like Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Inspector Rousseau, etc.

  2. The article says that 95% of US kids with autism attend school, as opposed to <20% in France. It wasn't clear to me that the same criteria were used to judge autism in both countries, but maybe I skipped that part.

    My nephew is one of those 95% who attend school (public school). It's not clear that this is particularly helpful–I suspect that he doesn't learn much (if anything) that they teach; if he acts anything at all in school like he does around me he would make it much harder for other kids to learn.
