New Depths For CNN

This is just pathetic:

Now CNN is put in the unenviable position to be, at best, second on a story involving harassment of one of their own people. Cripes did they hire the same news director as that Newspaper in Norfolk that didn’t find the beating of their own reporters newsworthy?

None of this was necessary. In fact if CNN and the other media entities made the choice to report the news rather than serve as a filter for stories the left wanted killed, not only would it have ratings, but there would be no FOX or Drudge etc because there would have been no market for them.

Instead you have a network so pathetic that Donald Trump is making fun of CNN’s ratings on their own network. I don’t blame him, when a news organization becomes incapable of recognizing a story then that news organization will be a laughing-stock, and rightly so.

Apparently, as with the New York Times, their loyalty to their leftist ideology trumps staying in business. They really could compete with Fox by simply reporting all of the news (not just what they want us to hear), and doing it better, but as long as they insist on being filters in the service of the state, they’ll continue to leave the field to their competitor.

[Update mid morning]

Wouldn’t it be great if the Tides Foundation (among others) lost their tax-exempt status over this? Of course, it won’t happen with this administration’s IRS, but there could still be some interesting congressional hearings.

  1. CNN needs to bring back Crossfire and ditch the reporters that bring their opinions into straight news coverage.

  2. The real crime is the only reason any of these organizations exist at all is because they steal money from taxpayers and funnel it to themselves.

When I say crime I mean high crime and misdemeanor. We are all guilty of being accomplices. Shame on us.

  3. I work at a Federal Government facility. The center only gets a very limited cable TV for free. It offers things like C-Span, NASA Select, and for some reason, CNN. I have asked about this several times and was told that only CNN was offered as part of this limited package, so we get 24-7 CNN in the gym there.

Yesterday was a perfect example of the problems at CNN. They had more than 30 minutes spent covering the ‘Birther’ story about a Michigan man running for Congress proposing that the Federal Govt implement an organization to ensure all running for political office meet birth requirements. Under the scroll was ‘Birthers Can’t Give UP’ the entire time.

Contrast this with the ZERO coverage of the Catholic Church suing the Obama Administration over the Health Care issue.

This is one example (please don’t even ask about Trayvon Martin) of how CNN chooses to focus on Left Wing stories and bury anything that makes the Dems/Obama Admin look bad.

    Sad, really.

    1. A couple years ago, I had a 4 hour layover in Detroit’s airport. All that was playing was CNN and it was loud. Their commentators and reporters had their heads so far up Obama’s ass that if the man farted, he’d blow out all their eardrums. That was a long 4 hours. It made me desire one of those universal remote controls that will turn any TV off.

    2. I’ve seen the same with MSNBC. I’m convinced that when anyone mentions a MSNBC audience size, they are referring to empty breakrooms and building lobbies with MSNBC blaring away to nobody’s attention.
