OK, my question about this article is: who puts whole (or even cut) tomatoes in chicken soup? Honestly, the question being asked would never occur to me, because I’ve never been burned by a tomato in soup of any kind, let alone chicken.
There is a lot of Mexican, TexMex recipes that call for tomatoes in various chicken soups.

Yes, but I don’t eat them. Most people who hear the words “chicken soup” think the standard, with noodles. If the title had just been “soup,” it would have made more sense.
Same with many Italian recipes.
YEah, but those are diced tomatoes, Vladislaw.
I can comprehend (though I likewise don’t think of “chicken soup” as being tomatoey) someone doing that; I can’t comprehend the diced tomato chunks maintaining enough integrity to cause a painful reaction; they should fall apart due to the cooking process.
