An Oliver Stone production.
The idea that Stalin was only interested in peace is refuted by the Polish-Soviet War and the Winter War. However Stalin did expel Trostky from the Soviet Union under the argument of communism in one country: i.e. while Trotsky wanted world war to spread communism everywhere Stalin thought communism could survive in the Soviet Union alone. If you perceive Stalin’s actions under the lens of reclaiming lost Russian Empire territory after WWI then everything starts to make a whole lot more sense.
