The Constitution

The Left is now quite open in its contempt for it, and the law.

Thomas More would have been appalled:

…And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned around on you–where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country’s planted thick with laws from coast to coast–man’s laws, not God’s–and if you cut them down…d’you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I’d give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety’s sake.

Laws are for the little people.

I think it’s a good thing that some of the more radical on the left are openly dismissing the concept of limited government and, really, civil liberties. Let’s get it all out and on the table. If we’re going to commit suicide, let’s make damned sure that everyone sees the gun, at least.

If David Gregory isn’t prosecuted, there are two outcomes:
    1) Antigun laws against non-violent offenders will not be enforced.
    2) That we have an unAmerican two-tier justice system, one for the 1% Nobility, the other for the serfs of the 99%.
The second option will result in the further erosion of the fed govt’s legitimacy in the eyes of the public.

So with 2) you are saying the whole country will turn into California, LA County in particular?

      Sorry, but it already happened.

I have a suggestion. All of us know that Gregory isn’t going to be crucified the way one of us would be should we be caught with the same magazine. So my suggestion is that we all start applying who…whom ANYTIME WE ARE IN A JURY ROOM. The rule of law is dead. Time we buried it in our hearts. If David Gregory and Tim Geithner are immune to the law, so too should we be.

The leftists are dropping their masks now.

And they wonder why we resist being disarmed?

What exactly is it that they would like to be able to do, but currently can’t, since the American people are armed? That’s a rhetorical question.

Well really, it was only a small step from “Living Constitution” and leftist judicial activism to this. Once laws stop having any objective interpretation, they can mean anything and consequently nothing.

Wellnow that we live in a banana republic, I suppose the lefties feel their oats enough to come right out and tell us what we’ve always known:

They want to throw away our Constitution, usurp our rights, and dictate to us how THEY think we should live.

    Tyrants always want more power.

What amazes me is that all these lefty dolts think that THEY know better than the authors of the Constitution. They think that human nature has changed, and we are somehow more noble than the savages who wrote the document.

Well those morons don’t hold a candle to the collective wisdom of the Founders.

The real questions, though are these:

Are there enough people in the nation who value the Constitution to stand athwart their hideous schemes and Shout NO! ?

Are they willing to do what has to be done to stop this ever-accelerating progression?

Tyrants always exist. But do enough Constitutionalists exist to save what we have left?

By exercise of the vote? Doubtful.

By force of arms? I expect most are keeping their powder dry for the moment. I see a few likely trigger events:
      – attempted disarmament of We the People.
      – naked election fraud.
      – naked censorship.
      – attempted roundup of political enemies.

Cutting off government checks, or those checks becoming worthless, seems more likely to trigger welfare riots from the left.

Recent events (e.g.: London Riots and #OWS) have demonstrated that welfare riots, even if they happen, are likely to be short-lived, especially against any actual resistance (i.e. private citizens with armaments and the will to defend themselves — NOT the police). During the LA riots, Korean storekeepers successfully guarded their property with shotguns at the ready. A handful of rent-a-cops kept #OWS from actually occupying Wall Street buildings, forcing #OWS to move the goalpost and occupy a park somewhere. The Left is quite craven and, like any bully, once stood-up to, finds someone else to pick on. Just ask the Muslims.

So you’re basing your hypothesis upon a lack of data?

Has it not occurred to you that it is merely the threat of widespread violence by the underclass is meant to keep the worker bees in line?

  7. Gregg

Yes the Left ARE dropping their masks now….

Feinstein admits she wants to confiscate all guns as did Cuomo…..

Seidman wants to toss out the Constitution (which the Obama administration has been doing for 4 years)….

Skyrocketing debt and massive tax increases with no hint of cutting spending – which is the real problem….

This would normally be a very good thing because a smart articulate, savvy Conservative can use all this against them to persuade the country they are leading us down the path of doom….

As yet, we don’t have one of those. Reagan would know what to do..in fact he did it.

I don’t see one now though. That person should have emerged when Maxine Waters said she would resort to Socialism to take over the oil companies.

    Crickets…….

    1. Gregg

p.s. To the list of examples showing the destruction of the Republic, I should have added:

Outright demonstrations that we are no longer a nation of laws, but a nation of men…such as Gregory not being arrested for violating the law (where you and I would be thrown in the Calaboo and lose our permits for the same thing)…..

Deals and waivers for Liberal cronies so that they don’t have to suffer the horrid effects of the Socialist Obama’s deals…….

These are the sorts of things you find in any Totalitarian State. You can ask any Russian who grew up in the 50’s and 60’s….

..Or Polish citizen. They are laughing at some of us now.

      1. Thales

Maybe it goes down like the USSR who could no longer pay its bills…and, like them, loses the states it captured (in the war of 1860.)
