We need take care that the spinning windmills do not become like the statues on Easter Island, monuments of a failed civilisation.
What he doesn’t (or at least didn’t) understand is that they want civilization, and humanity itself, to fail.
I’ve heard of speaking truth to power, but what’s Lovelock doing? Shouting into the wind?
I think on the documentary ‘Windfall’ they mentioned that the companies that are erecting these wind turbines only have support contracts that go out for 15-25 years — something like that. That just begs the question: What happens when the contracts run out? If they aren’t renewed do they just leave the towers sitting out there?
