  1. Good grief. If he really thinks anyone who can afford a private jet would even think of sleeping in a homeless shelter, (a) NYC’s homeless shelters are way too luxurious; (b) Bloomie’s crazy; or, more likely, ( c) both.

    Wotta maroon.

  2. Wrong metaphor, Rand. You see, it is all about the missing frozen strawberries . . .

  3. Apparently, he’s complaining because the facilities in question cost something like $800 million last year. My take is throwing in some sort of needs based test isn’t to fix things because then NYC would have to pay for a bureaucracy to administer such tests.

  4. I realize the Bloomberg was trying to make a point, but here’s question.

IF he disagrees with the policy, AND given that he quite fond is of running the city as if he’s been handed a Kingdom from his father, the late King of NYC, then WHY doesn’t he just issue a Mayoral Dictum CHANGING the Policy!?

He’s decided who can eat, what they can eat, what they can use to wash it down, he’s stopped donations of prepared foods, baked goods, even leftovers from World Class Vegan Restaurants [which seems and oxymoron] because they can’t verify the fat, salt and carb counts. But he’s worried that George Soros is going to blow into town on his G-5, and check into a free room in The Bowery, thus stiffing NYC of a $3K a night tab they can tax?

It seems an odd tack to take for a self-serving, rich guy who twisted NYC Rules and Regs so he could KEEP living in Gracie Mansion for free! I thank God often that my parents moved away from NYC and LI before I was ever a gleam in a Sgt’s eye!

  6. The rich are different from us. They are bonkers. Wackaroo. Insanium in the cranium. Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, Froot Loopy, and always after me Lucky Charms.

    They’re nuts.
