  1. In Logan Co.? If they don’t like you there, you will wish they had only tarred and feathered you.

This is not going to end well for somebody and I am not talking about the kid. Somebody is seeking justice and gonna get the WV version of the Missouri Boat Ride.

  2. While there is nothing more annoying than a teenager that will not shut up. The presumed adults are way out of line with a year in jail possibility.

How did the police get into the business of telling people what T-Shirt a kid can wear? Are they now the personal gestapo of the teachers?

  3. “On one hand, the arresting officer from the Logan City Police Department, James Adkins, claims that when Jared refused to stop talking, that hindered his ability to do his job, hence, the obstruction charge. ”

Oh yeah right. So now talking interferes with the officer doing his job…and an 8th grader no less.

So now we have a direct assault on the first amendment freedom of speech. Government throwing it’s weight around to crush an 8th grader.

And not allowing the kid to wear an NRA t-shirt is imbecilic in the first place.

The school administration is completely whacked. I will say, however, that I do understand a school administration’s desire to avoid all lawsuits if violence breaks out.

Even so this is almost as insane as suspending the kid who ate a pop tart into the shape of a gun.

  4. There have been young leftists who didn’t mind getting arrested. Give the pro-liberty movement 1000 kids like this and things would begin changing for the better, and soon.

    1. The difference is that the lefties know the media will be on their side and they probably won’t even get a record, let alone be sent to jail. Few of the lefties in the media are going to support a kid wearing an NRA shirt; most would be applauding when he was jailed.

  5. This case (amongst many others) should have sovereign immunity revoked.

The current method requires a judge to decide to. Give that decision to a jury.

  6. Lawsuit. Big, expensive and personal naming the police officer and school officials. Organize and win control of the school board, then start firing people. Win control of city hall, fire the police chief and clean house in the police department. Make it personal.

  7. Making it impersonal is the point. You can attack a person, but how do you attack a policy?

Especially since nobody is ever responsible for the policy?
