This kind of idiocy will continue until it causes pain for the idiots.
Unfortunately, when the police or other government authorities violate someone’s civil rights and the victim wins a court judgement, it’s usually innocent taxpayers who are left holding the bag. The laws need to be changed so that individual government employees can be held personally responsible. That’s the only thing that will curb such behavior.
The key is to sue the individuals personally and not just the school district.
