    1. Do you see a large number of Christians murdering non-Christians today for religious reasons? Do Hindus or Buddhists do it?

This is a human problem, not a religious one. Stalin and Mao, great atheists, proved that.

    2. Christianity was once intolerant

This is misleading because the apostasy came in the first century as recorded in the bible. Those political entities closely associated with the state were not christians. The separation of the wheat and the weeds has only been occurring during our day. The most outstanding quality of christians today is they do not pray for god to be on their side while killing their brothers that happen to live in an enemy nation.

  1. Wasn’t it just a couple of days ago that a Canadian soldier was run over by a jihadi nutcase? Yet I have heard not even the slightest suggestion yet on the MSM that the Ottawa situation could also have a connection to such persons.

    1. Yes. Both the guy than ran over the soldier and the guy today that shot the soldier were recently declared “high risk travelers” and denied the opportunity to fly to Syria to join ISIS. Here’s the slight suggestion, if you consider it MSM. You’ll find it half the way down in one paragraph and not discussed further.

  2. THIS is why progressive liberal onsie-wearing, cocoa sipping morons are losers (the following is from the article):

““It defines their world on a clear grid of what’s permitted or ‘halal,’ and what’s prohibited which is ‘haram’. So they know exactly where they stand. So the Qur’an becomes this guidebook that tells you exactly what to wear, what to eat, how to wash, how to behave, when to pray.”

But with situational ethics, no moral compass, anything goes, no such thing as right or wrong, sneering at religious strictures, you are never wrong – only oppressed, everyone gets a trophy, the left has erased the “clear grid” of the West. The grid doesn’t have to be religious…but it has to be there.

  3. Personally, I feel insulted whenever I see women in head scarves. Perhaps I’m just ill-informed but as I understand it, islamic people believe men are unable to control themselves around women, shouldn’t be expected to do so, and so women must be “modest” whenever in public. It’s bad enough to hold such a disgusting and degrading opinion about the male gender, but do you have to wear it on your sleeve? (or, in this case, your head.)

  4. I just heard on the radio (up here in Canada, eh), that this scumbag has been arrested a number of times and had his passport seized because he was considered a “threat” – and YES, he was a convert to islam (surprise, surprise). He seems to have been associated with ISIS

  5. I wear a chadri (complete body covering, head to toe with a little screen to see out of) when I play in the Society for Creative Anachronism. The sudden and total disappearance of a human being (me) when wearing one is amazing. You can’t see my eyes, therefore I don’t exist. I can and have come up to people who I know and been studiously ignored. Stand in line for food and you’re just another impediment to service. The lack of clearly defined head and facial features equals nonexistence, and this happens at RenFaires and SCA events where odd dress and behavior is the norm. It’s an interesting experiment and it nets me NO RESPECT WHATSOEVER. On the other hand, when I’m in jeans and boots and a blouse, I get lots of notice, and even some respect. Could be the knife on my belt helps, though.

      1. That’s not true at all, Rand: wearing the burqa marks you as property of a Muslim, not to be raped by Muslims. There’s a certain minimal amount of respect there.

        1. No, the male relative standing in front of the burqa marks it as not to be raped. Unaccompanied burqas are fair game.

    1. When I was in Piccadilly Circus, a couple of women walked by in full burqas. I didn’t notice them first, but rather the men pushing themselves through the crowd (not too unusual for that intersection) and then I noticed the sheets walking behind them. For a moment, I didn’t recognize what I was seeing and thought that these were some kids dressed up as ghost like Halloween, but this was in September. Then I realized what they were: muslim women being hidden from view. While people were moving out of the way of the men to let them through, most people didn’t notice the women and they were having a very difficult time keeping up.

Like Rand said, I felt pity for the women, but I certainly didn’t respect them. It was like watching battered women, in public, chasing after their abusers just to be with them.

        1. I’ll admit, I saw them other places later. But I will also say that I been around two Islamic Centers/Mosques in Houston and have never seen women in full burqas. Hijab yes, but not a burqa.

  6. I expect to see more and more converts to Islam in all countries going forward. Osama bin Laden’s quote about people preferring a strong horse to a weak horse applies not only to Arab culture, but to human nature in general.

The Left has done a thorough job of delegitimizing Christianity and Western Civilization. Europe is often described as a “post-Christian” culture, and North America isn’t far behind.

As long as the West is cowed by accusations of imperialism and racism, and refuses to stand up for itself, Islam will continue to gain adherents. I believe that in the near future, young people who tire of mindless hedonism and seek structure in their lives will gravitate to Islam, rather than Christianity or Judaism.

Needless to say, if I’m right this will be a serious problem.
