    1. We were told a lot of things……

      not a smidgen of corruption……

we’ll get to see the emails in a couple of weeks…..

the emails are gone due to several simultaneous disk crashes…

      there are no back ups….

there are back ups but they last only 6 months and then they are overwritten….

IRS strained every fiber of their being to find the emails but they just aren’t there…they know because they asked….

And of course none of it was true.

      1. It wont be too long before Jim claims there is a government wide email back up system that exonerates the Extortionist in Chief.

  1. At the end of the linked story:

As TheDC reported, the IRS fired its email-storage contractor Sonasoft just weeks after Lerner’s email-deleting computer crash.

Sonasoft never provided email backup or archiving services to the IRS. So why does The Daily Caller mention them? Could it be that TheDC is more interested in pandering to readers who are hungry for conspiracy theories than in accurate reporting?

    1. DC should update their story with the correct information but the Obama administration should also come clean on what they have been doing.

The illegal actions of the Obama administration’s use of the IRS have not stopped. They claimed to have ended the illegal practices years ago but they continue on even today. They claimed to search for the emails but never did. They claimed everything was lost in a drive crash but it wasn’t. They claimed no backups existed but they do. The Obama administration has lied repeatedly to the courts and to congress and needs to be held accountable.

This article shows yet another link between the IRS and DOJ working together to persecute dissidents and thwart investigations. Interagency action like this does not happen without the say so of someone with the authority to giver orders to multiple government agencies.

Obama rules by using agencies to enact his will. There are examples in every single government agency of Obama doing this. Bypassing congress and using the IRS to implement regulations is Obama’s style, his operating standard, and the hallmark of his Presidency.

Because Obama used the agency this partisan fashion, his people targeted groups and individuals perceived as Obama’s enemies while giving preferential treatment to Democrat aligned groups.

Are you sure the DOJ isn’t just acting as legal counsel for the IRS and Treasury Department? Isn’t that pretty routine?

The issue in this particular denial is that the True the Vote lawyer was trying to introduce evidence:

“I’m advised that the IRS maintains servers that are in different states in different locations and that IRS employees are advised that their emails are never lost,” Mitchell said in court, according to the transcripts.

IANAL, but I believe that to introduce facts like those in a court proceeding you need to submit affidavits or witness testimony; you don’t get to just say “I’m advised”. Leave it to The Daily Caller to turn an example of sloppy legal work on the part of True the Vote into a conspiracy to withhold information.

        1. Are you sure the DOJ isn’t just acting as legal counsel for the IRS and Treasury Department? Isn’t that pretty routine?

Are you serious? You are really asking if the role of the Justice Department is to “act as legal counsel” for other federal departments?

        2. Are you sure the DOJ isn’t just acting as legal counsel for the IRS and Treasury Department?

Holy shit, Jim just proved he has no grasp of Representative government. “We the People” means nothing to Jim.

        3. I am confused are these the servers that the Obama administration said didn’t exist and/or had been destroyed? Or we they the servers that the Obama administration said they examined and didn’t find any emails? Or are they new servers that the Obama administration knew about but failed to tell the courts and congress about?

I can’t keep up with all the lies and false testimony.

        1. “Sonasoft answers that question in their press release, linked above.”

No they don’t. They, too, are playing lawyer-ese words games. Just like Bill, Hillary and you.

          When they say:

“Sonasoft does NOT have IRS email. Sonasoft NEVER had access to IRS email.”

That’s a lawyer game. When you turn over a turnkey system YOU (the vendor) don’t get the customer’s product.

The customer uses your product with their data. That’s clearly explained in their description of Sonavault.

Next, why do yuo believe Sonasoft’s recent statement when they tweeted, in 2009:

“If the IRS uses Sonasoft products to backup their servers why wouldn’t you choose them to protect your servers?”

          Hmm?

Doesn’t quite jibe with Khanna’s satement now does it?

Were they lying then or now?

And is this yet another example of you cherry picking only the evidence that supports your view?

          Yup…..

  2. Another great tidbit from The Daily Caller:

One of the IRS employees tasked with finding data on Lerner’s crashed hard drive was legally blind.

There’s no reason why a blind person can’t be an excellent forensic data recovery technician. If anything this employee should be praised as an example of someone who performs a demanding and important job in spite of a disability. But TheDC just can’t resist taking a cheap shot at the IRS, smearing this man and every other blind person along the way.

    1. He should be commended for finally finding the emails that the IRS Administrator claimed were lost. The IRS Administrator should then be fired, and the AG should be fired for believing his job was to provide legal advice to the IRS, rather than aggressively prosecute any potential violations of the public trust.

      1. Lol yup. We kept hearing for years how hard it was to find the backups, how the IRS looked everywhere, and that everything was destroyed but a blind man found them easy enough in a couple of weeks.

A single blind man outperformed two entire government agencies. Either he has some super powers or the agencies in question didn’t want the data found.

    2. He did a better job than all the IRS employees with working eyeballs that’s for sure lol.

  3. From George Will:

“Many thousands of Lerner’s emails that supposedly were irretrievably lost have been found, but not released. The Justice Department’s investigation, which was entrusted to a political appointee who was a generous contributor to Barack Obama’s campaign, is a stone in the stone wall.”

And the wall is tall and wide…there are a lot of stones in the wall.
