At the very end he tries to bend the movie into the far left world view. He states that the homes and farms in the space settlement show that humanity did not learn anything… whereas what it really meant was that through perseverance, courage, and intellect humanity overcame the worst nature could throw at it and created a civilization that is free and comfortable to real people rather than the imagined New Socialist Man.
