  1. In equally astounding news, a new study has determined that, absent other influences, water will flow parallel to the gravitational gradient.

Good grief, they need a study to confirm that paleo (which is inherently lower in carbs than low fat ) is better than high carb for T2 diabetics? T2 diabetes is, after all, best described as the body having trouble handling carbohydrates, especially high glycemic ones such as sugar (glucose, sucrose, fructose, etc). Going low fat (and thus high carb) is, and always has been, insane for a T2 (Even protein breaks down to half glucose, though at least it’s slow), because much of those added carbs come in the form of starch, and starch is glucose molecules linked (and reverts to glucose as soon as it’s consumed).

I’m not slamming the study, just the need for it.

The national organizations like ADA, AHA, etc. and the government are dug in hard on low fat/high carb diets. In talking to internists and cardiology researchers, many are pushing lowish carb diets – not as low as Atkins, but high protein with a reasonable portion of low glycemic index carbs. In addition, there is substantial evidence accumulating that enteric bacteria may be the culprit in much of the obesity and diabetes in the US and Europe.
