  1. I’m always skeptical about an Andy Pazstor article (even when it’s bias confirming). He usually has a shred of truth, but a lot of spin and/or supposition.

  2. **The program has never made any sense to me. And I weep when I think of the better ways Allen’s money could have been/could be spent.**

Not having a customer lined up who has rocket to be launched, doesn’t make sense to me, but also it seems depends on how much money was spent. If low initial costs compared to expected return, it could make sense
to go forward so as develop a service for a customer. Or get to point of having a product salable to potential customers.
I would guess potential customers for StratoLaunch would be suborbital- I thought the idea was to make more capable mothership than Knight Two, and therefore more of a continuation of what Allen had already done.
Or it make sense to me, to launch suborbital vehicles from a mothership, as does the evolution of sub-orbital to orbital.
But I think my idea of pipelauncher is better idea to get rocket to a higher elevation and reduce the gravity loss of a rocket.
Cheaper to build, lift any rocket size, and new idea [assuming you want that kind of “fun”:)]

  3. Vulcan Aerospace has already denied the story. But as Jon says, this is par for Pazstor’s course.
