  1. Wow. I was just thinking the other day that a lot of Apollo haters look at the 1960s moon landing program like a love affair that ended badly and here Rick proves me right.

    1. We don’t hate what Apollo was, we hate it when clueless people try to force an obsolete paradigm on our future.

  2. They don’t hate Apollo, they just don’t think the 1960’s are the future. The SLS can’t land. In retrospect, it was obsolete before it was even designed. Most of us knew that before it was even designed.

  3. Stirrings of free enterprise from HuffPo, the reality of the Omarxi year must finally be sinking in.

  4. We are the people, doing what you inspired us to do — so embrace it, embrace us. Let us do the heavy lifting now. You can help clear the way — as our champions.

    This ^^

Government should enable its citizens to thrive on their own. The stronger the people, the more government can do because of them.

  5. I’m curious what an “intersolar highway system” is. Google can’t seem to find it.

I wonder if he means the InterPlanetary Superhighways (IPS) popularized by Koon, Lo, Ross et al? Although his use of the term infrastructure makes me doubt it. Still, if he does then a bunch of probes at strategic lagrange points around the Solar system and a garage at EML-1 (our cisluanr on-ramp to the IPS) would make me rather happy.

Or is he talking about highways (and infrastructure) between stars? But that would be interstellar highways. Hunh.
