The Obama Economy

He’ll be the first president ever to never see a year of 3% growth.

Despite all the Democrat hype about “X months of job creation,” the jobs don’t pay that well, and there haven’t been enough of them to keep up with population growth. This nonsense about “saving the world from a depression” is just that — no one knows what would have happened without the Democrats bailing out the public-employee and auto unions. It’s a counterfactual. But one can trace the nation’s economic problems to 2006, when the party that hates economic growth took over Congress.

[Update a while later]

As GDP flat lines, Obama brags about his economic record.

As noted there, both he and his supporters are delusional.

  1. Get ready to hear people say, “It could’ve been worse! It’s Bush’s fault! We’re making progress, it just takes time!”

    1. None of those faulting Bush will recall their statements about the multiplying affects of ARRA or the fact that after passage of ARRA, the economy grew slower than Administration projections of economic growth absent ARRA.

Since personal accounts seem to matter to some; I’ll just note I’m witnessing the second massive cuts in STEM positions within the Obama Administration. The first was 2 years after his election. That may be selfish to say, but really this second one isn’t affecting me, so I’m noting others suffering under Obama.

  2. Only in a world with kids voting and no memories could he get away with these lies. I never worried about a job when I was a kid. I could always find or create one. Now we’ve got a growing never working class like we’ve never had before.

    1. Yes, and we have a winner. Jon, tell him what he won. And who got the pot on the over/under at 4 hours.

  3. I remember seeing several charts from years ago that showed remarkably weak job growth and similar problems. Does anyone have an up to date version of that?

    1. I do know that it’s the weakest recovery in the post war. Every other recession had a bounce back almost as steep as the fall. This one continues to bump along the bottom. Which is no surprise to anyone who understands economics and all of the damage this administration’s policies have done.

  4. (Jim-sarc) If the GOP would only stop obstructing and help Obama the recovery would have been much better (/Jim-sarc)
