Back To California

We’ve done about as much as we can do to get the house ready to sell, and have a non-stop flight from Miami to LA this afternoon. Things probably back to normal tomorrow.

  1. While you were gone they let in thousands and thousands more illegals, so it will probably feel more cramped than you remember.

  2. So what happened in Nevada in Saturday? And how is it that CNN and NBC news are talking about it before even the Right Blogosphere got ahold of it? Did anyone see the article on Real Clear Politics?

What is with the throwing of chairs? Has the Democratic Party turned into the Jerry Springer Show? And what is with all of the hate directed at Roberta Lange? Are the Sandernistas really that uncivil? Or is what the Clintonians are doing so “over the top” that half the Democratic Party is in a white-hot rage?

Jim, you usually have a good sense of what is taking place on the other side of the Great Partisan Divide — can you educate us to what is going on here? The snark in the Right Blogosphere is that this was justs Socialists being Socialists, but that cannot be correct — what triggered this?

    1. The Sanders supporters are the militant protest wing, the lifeblood of the Democrat party. They were just doing what they always do but the corporatist Democrats are upset because the violence is directed at them and not non-Democrats.

I don’t know if the rules were broken in NV but one think has been made clear, there is an ideological rift in then democrat party. The nastiness directed at fellow Democrats is worse than the #NeverTrump thing and now there are new hashtags, #NeverClinton & #NeverHillary.

Two hashtags so it must be twice as bad. Some of the Sanders riot squad are even saying they might vote Trump, cancelling out Jeb’s vote for Hillary.

      1. Sanders is not a democrat and the hard core with him are not democrats. They are independents. Sanders just wanted the mailing lists of democratic donors so he said he would ‘run’ as a democrat. But he proves he is not one every day.

    1. Maybe it doesn’t mean anything other than Musk pulled back the curtain a little bit on what they have been working on these past years. Guess we will have to wait and see if the payload numbers change.

        1. What’s unusual about Elon using aliens as a labor force? Isn’t that half the point of going into space?

    2. The Falcon 9 Heavy is supposed to have propellant crossfeeding between all three cores. So the core needs to be changed to add more piping.

Or at least it was supposed to be like this last time I heard about it.

    3. You have to beef up the core and second stage because you’ve still got the large accelerations (from 27 engines) applying force to a much heavier payload. The thrust loads from the two boosters has to be transferred through the core stage.

Meanwhile the last stage they recovered is said to have max damage from re-entering at Mach 5.7 so they’re not going to re-use it. Instead it “will be our life leader for ground tests to confirm others are good,”

So there’s another data point. Re-entering at Mach 5 would only be about 2/3rds of the heating as a Mach 5.7 re-entry and Mach 4.5 would only be half the heating.
