Why won’t the Left apologize for backing the disaster there?
Because they never apologize for anything, and virtue signaling is more important to them than actual results, regardless of how many millions of lives are blighted or brutally ended by their policy prescriptions.

Same could be said about backing the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt; Over-throwing Khaddafi; Claiming victory in Iraq; Doing nothing but flip-flopping on Syria; Making a deal with North Korea which didn’t prevent them from building Nuclear Weapons.
And that’s just a few issues in recent foreign affairs. I never understood why Dems get a pass on fighting for slavery in the civil war and creating Jim Crow laws. Indeed the last time Democrats wanted to nationalize the discussion on restroom policies gave us Jim Crow laws. Where we potty shouldn’t be a federal discussion. Foreign affairs should, and the recent track record on their primary job sucks. Thus the pivot to talking about restrooms.
Have they every apologized for backing the Soviet Union when some of the Finest Minds in America hailed it as a Workers’ Paradise? To his credit (sort of), Pete Seeger finally came around to saying something like, “You know, in retrospect, that Stalin guy may have been pretty evil.” That was about five years ago; but better late than never.
